Is the more expensive makeup worth the money?

I have recently graduated college and I am looking for some new makeup. I have visited several of the makeup counters at Belk and Dillards. I am trying to decide is it really worth the money to buy from somewhere like Prescriptives or Clinique or should I just stick with something from Wal-mart. I have had trouble with breakouts and blemishes for a while as well. I just found an acne treatment that is working. Will makeup make a difference as well. I am completely clueless. Should I spend the extra money??????Is the more expensive makeup worth the money?
yes, but if your careful you dont have to spend too much money...I love prescriptives...the foundation goes on so lightly and flawlessly and their eye shadows are awesome...what I like to do is spend the little extra cash on my base and powder from prescriptives(especially since it is mixed to match my skintone), and then go to wallgreens or wallmart to get things like eyeliner, mascara, blush, shadows, etc...this is the definite way to go...trust me!Is the more expensive makeup worth the money?
Those are worth buying only if you can afford it. There are inexpensive brands out there that work good too. I have learned that the really cheap makeup is no good. So, you don't want to go too cheap, but if you can afford it, go for the clinique and Lancome, but if you can't, I have had great success w/Loreal products. Their foundation Loreal True Match is AWESOME! The only makeup that I buy super cheap because I use it so much and I probably have like 5 tubes of the same color in my purse, is lip gloss. I buy the Wet and Wild. Otherwise, I do try to spend at least $10 on foundation. You can always find eyeshadows that have all the different colors in it as well that are inexpensive in store brands. Otherwise, you are spending like $12 for one color of clinique or lancome. Forget that.
you should definately pay for the more expensive. clinique is the best i have used it since i was 21 and i am 30 now i would never change. i use every thing from them on my face.
NO. I watched an episode on the Tyra show and they had an experiment with makeup from a drugstore and the more expensive makeup. Half of a womans face was made up with the drugstore makeup and the other half with expensive makeup. Her face looked exactly the same. The expensive makeup she wore came to a total of 221 dollars. The drugstore makeup came to a total of 47 dollars. So to answer your question, the makeup looks just as good from the drugstore.
Clinique has a great reputation. However, in my experience, the best one I have found is Neutrogena Oil-Free Makeup from Walgreens. It clears pores, and blends skin tones to make my complexion appear flawless. I love it!
DO SPEND EXTRA MONEY IT = LONGER MAKE UP AND BETTER BRAND DUHH
Some times it is worth it, sometimes its not.

If your on a tight budget then try Cover girl true blend foundation, concealer and powder (if you use all of that) and Rimmel mascara.

Aveeno has excellent face soaps and moisturizers.

MAC under eye concealer is worth the money though, its POTENT.
In my experience, no.
No, Drug store make up is the same as Expensive make up.
i would splurge on foundation...and the lipstick, but keep it inexpensive with the eyeshadow and liner and the blush. =)
Expensive well branded are more worth it. It protects your skin in long term. You can tell the difference probably 10 years from now.

Skin aging , achne, wrinkles are long term process and u need to take care of your skin from now. Dont risk your skin.Good skin would always look good on anything for now !!
I would buy Clinuqe it is alll i use and it is the best- so yes
try out different things and see what works best for you
nope no matter what it is and Please do not use the stuff that takes awy your wrinkles

Cause they use aborted baby tissues to make it
no save your money
try bobby brown very expansive but very nice
Well the more expensive make-up does actually make quite a difference. Not only in your wallet though lol..it lasts longer and looks better. You wont have to apply a million times. Make up can effect your acne. Such as stuff that blocks pores. (cover up, concealers), just be sure to buy oil free, and also use a make up remover every night before you sleep. Youll be more satisfied with the look if you spend a couple extra bucks. Have fun shopping! xo
no its not. Its al in your aplication. Buy some quality brushes and sponges an remember to clean them often. I dont mean buy the cheepest kind but mabeline, is great! there lashstylist mascara is FABULOUS. and i use the covergirl whipped foundation and i look flawless! just remember you hands are FILLED with bactiria so even for your foundation use a spunge and a lumunous vanilla under your eyebrows will make you look great!good luck!
You get what you pay for. Actually I like Avon products. They aren't too expensive (about the same price as Cover Girl %26amp; Maybelline) and they work really well. They are the number 1 seller of cosmetics and there's a reason! I just started selling it recentlly but I've been using it for much longer!
no its not! dont you watch Tyra? the cheap stuff works better
definetly! the makeup may be more expensive but it makes you look a WHOLE lot better. it actually lasts compared to the cheap stuff that people tend to buy. yeah its cheaper but it doesnt mean that it is better. plus the makeup counter workers really help to pick out what looks good with your skin tone and what doesn't. and if you have any questions they're more than happy to answer them.
more expensive makeup is more color pigmented, and a little goes a really long way. but i have also noticed that the drugstore brands like loreal and neutrogena are better for your skin, because some are oil free, non-comodogenic, and are talc-free, while TIGI bedhead(i have an eyeshadow palette from TIGI) has talc in it (like most makeup)it was $35 and is only sold in Salons. so shouldnt expensive makeup be allergy free, oil-free, non-comodogenic, and talc-free just like neutrogena? sadly, i guess in this you dont get what you pay for.
If you have the money you should buy and if you need it yes

Sincerly,

Q
no it all the same with different names
You get what you pay for. Mascara is probably safe to buy the cheaper line, say Maybelline, but the foundation, blush, etc. is best to be bought at the make-up counter where the trained salesperson behind the counter can guide you to the best make up for your skin type and color.
the only thing I use that is expensive by MAC is my foundation everything else is cheap and I still look good
no
you could ask a salesperson. it sometimes is worth the money, but other times its not. like, if they have samples.. try them to see how it looks and feels.. etc. if they dont read the package that the make-up comes in.. and if its anything that you never heard of.. i would suggest not to get it.. bcuz it couuld really really suck i hope this helps =]
It won't make a difference in your complexion. In my experience, the more expensive brands tend to have a nicer texture that goes on more smoothly. Sometimes it seems like they stay on longer, too. You're also paying for nicer packaging, nicer scents, and the latest trendy colors. I think that's about it.
not always but its different 4 evoryone
yes you should! more expensive products contain lesser chemicals that affect your skin and they dont block the pores as much because they're not 100% oil based and this will help your acne prone skin! Also i find that the less expensive products don't smell as nice! hope this helps!
