Is more expensive makeup worth the money? how?

Like is MAC, or Sephora, better than Covergirl? How?Is more expensive makeup worth the money? how?
It's up to you if it's really ';worth'; it or not. You know how much money you have and what your other priorities are. I think it depends on the type of makeup, but generally speaking, more expensive makeup feels better, if better for your skin, stays on longer, and goes on easier. here's my break down of worth it/vs not worth it for the expensive stuff

Foundation- expensive (I use Bare Minerals)

Blush- moderate (I use Bare Minerals and the Body Shop)

Powder- moderate (I use Bare Minerals but translucent drugstore powder can do the job)

Eyeshadow- expensive (I use BM, body Shop, MAC, and Urban Decay primer)

Mascara- drugstore (I use L'oreal telescopic, CG lash exact, and Max Factor Volume Couture)

Lip stick/ gloss- drugstore unless you want something dramatic like a matte red lip with staying power

Eyeliner- everyday use drugstore, I use expensive for special occasions (MAC fluidline, or BM liner shadow)

Brushes- Invest in these, they are great tools! MAC and BM make great brushesIs more expensive makeup worth the money? how?
That's probably a matter of personal preference. What do you like. If you wear a lot of makeup, you may want to invest in it. But there are a lot better things to invest in if you are spending money on your face (like a good haircut, good skincare and good haircoloring).

I have found that more expensive is not necessarily better. I have tried MAC. Bobbi Brown, etc. the biggest difference is that you can try on the more expensive brands before you buy them....so you are more likely to buy the right colors for you. Right now I am really loving Covergirl. I get more compliments when I wear it. Even when I was wearing more expensive brands, I stayed faithful to my Almay mascara.

Hope this helps.
For me Mac is the best because the cheap drug store brand does horrible things to my skin.
There isn't a huge difference between the more expensive brands and the cheaper ones. Expensive brands like MAC or Sephora tend to have more pigment, so you get a brighter color with less make-up. Less expensive brands can skimp on the pigment so they may not show up as much on your skin. I would say stick with brands such as MAC, Smashbox, NARS, etc... If you want to go for the more expensive stuff since they are professional make-up brands and you really will be paying for more pigment and nicer quality. I find that make up brands such as Chanel, Dior, or Givenchy, which are extensions of famous clothing, fragrance lines do not really produce superior cosmetics and you're just paying more a designer logo on your compact. Of course since you will ultimately be the one paying for your make up, your best bet is to just go into a department store, get some samples, and see if the quality justifies the higher price.
Truly the BEST I have ever tried and use is bee luscious cosmetics. Its everything it says it is and much more.

There is a huge difference from cheap to expensive.

First expensive lasts longer then it has better colors and leaves a much more polished look.
They're all good. The bottom line is : Don't buy cheap make-up to save money, you'll end up having to spend more to save your face later on.
Usually when you pay more for makeup it for two reasons 1 your buying the name, 2 it is more expensive because its better for your skin won't clog pores etc...
covergirl is crappy and it comes of easyer MAC, ect. is better becaus eit dosent wash away toll it hits water!
Well Not Necesarally But MAC And Sephora Are Great And Sephora Has A Great Selection Of Make Up!
only if you're worth it
it depends everybody's different but MAC is by the far the BEST! But covergirl is good too and it's inexpensive.
