Like i mean can people tell between makeup brands like mac and sepora to drugstore makeup brands such as revelon, maybelline and such? Is there a big difference where you can tell them apart or like is it much better or somthing? or... is it just like all about it being a better brand? Is expensive makeup better than drugstore makeup?
It depends. Some thing are better as better brands and some are better as cheap brands and some are equal.
Example of mine Foundation is lancome 40.00
mascara ~ lash blast walmart
loreal hip eyeshadow is just as good and expensive ones to me also.Is expensive makeup better than drugstore makeup?
Well your paying for the product. The texture of some more expensive products are better than drugstore. No offense to the girl thats 17 but when i was 17 i had better skin too but then again thats because when your young your skin looks so much better and is fresher. Now that im older i can tell you i went through all the make up. Maybelline, covergirl, revlon basically all drugstore brands. You name it i bought it. And although they are good some things are better when you buy them name brand. For example eyeshadows are better namebrand. The colors are real and you dont have to pack them on to actually get the color on the dang magazine. The foundations and powders look clearer and some brighter. The brushes thats definitely a given. Brushes are definitely better name brand. If you buy a drug store brush and use a drug store eyeshadow you'll either finish the eyeshadow sooner or the hair will fall or something. And to add to all that. You can try stuff out at the mall. You can go and check the foundations, eyeliners, eyeshadows and even lotions. You dont like that brand and you just move to the next counter. But chances are that once you buy brand name make up youll want to keep doing it.
In general, yes. Like everyone else said, more expensive brands use higher quality ingredients. Pricier brands also use more pigment in their makeup, so a little goes a long way and it will last a lot longer. With cheaper eyeshadows or blushes you have to keep layering it on to really see the color, but if you have more pigment you just need a little and your product will last a lot longer.
not necessarily. my favs are a mix of both:
Neutrogena oil-free makeup remover
Covergirl Lash Blast waterproof mascara
Stila Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer
MakeUpForEver's AquaEyes Eye Pencil
Fav brands:
Stila
Neutrogena
Mac
Covergirl
Elf
NYX
Urban Decay
Rimmel
Revlon
Everyday Minerals
Sephora Brand
What kind of sucks about makeup is that its different on every individual so its trial and error until you find something you like. I would start with the cheaper stuff first. Then if you still don't find something you like then move onto the more expensive stuff. Good Luck!! :) Sephora is a good store to try out the more expensive brands before you buy.
Depends on what your buying. When it comes to foundation, I can definately tell b/w cheap and expensive. Its best to get the foundation that is derm recomended and has natural ingrediants in it. I like Vichy alot. When it comes to mascara/eye shadow/lipstick its all the same, you might as well get the derm recommended reasonable priced stuff. As well, just bc some brands are expensive does NOT mean they have good ingredients it. Revlon, Red Earth, and 7 brands are pricey considering they have lead in their products, and test on animals.

It has ALOT of info about whats really in your makeup bag.
Common myths about drugstore makeup clogging your pores is false. Any makeup can do that, it just depends on how you take care of your skin.
I am a true believer in Covergirl, and yes I have tried more expensive brands like Lancome and Clinique and Dior. I always thought that the Covergirl and Maybelline made me look amazing while not costing me a fortune.
If it helps my argument any, I'm 17 and haven't had a single pimple in months. No Proactive or any of those pimple zappers involved. Simply an organic facial cleanser from the drugstore I work at. Cost me an entire $4 and I use it every day in the shower.
expensive makeup is expensive for a reason, and you can tell cause if the drugstore makeup make some people break out most of the time because it has really cheap materials and quality. and most makeout brands that you can find at the mall, have really good quality and the ingredients they use better than drugstore makeup
expensive makeup is so much more worth your money! drugstore makeup can ruin your skin, and clog your pores. it practically pays for itself once you realize that your pores aren't clogged as much as with the drugstore. the only thing thats ok to get from a drugstore is like lipgloss.
the best department tore brands are mac, lancome, and dior
foundations, concealers, and powders are definitly better if theyre department store brand. eyeshadows and eyeliners depend on the brand (you can find good drugstore eyeshadow/liner, but department store will still be better), and mascara is mascara no matter how expensive it is
Yes, from my experience, it has been. Especially since you get to try out the colors and products and stuff before you buy it, you don't waste anything.
depends on the product, in my experience yes
